ENTRY AND GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

Entry Requirements

As a potential beauty school student, you can enrol for our lucrative NITEC beauty course when you have achieved either of the following:

  1. Completion of GCE “N” Level (Pass in English for GCE “N” Level) or
  2. Any equivalent qualifications approved by ITE

We treat our students with respect, as we expect them to develop both personally and professionally while pursuing the NITEC in Beauty & Wellness. However, we make age limits for the students who can successfully enrol for the course. Participants must be at least 18 years old.

Graduation Requirements

After completing the NITEC in Beauty & Wellness course successfully, we will be glad to see you graduate. To graduate and obtain relevant certification, you will have to meet the following criteria:

  1. Complete all 6 modules with at least 75% in attendance (local students)
  2. Complete all 6 modules with at least 90% in attendance (international students)
  3. Be able to pass the mock examinations for the 6 modules
  4. Be able to pass the actual examination for the 6 modules

A successful entry and graduation marks the end of the programme. Upon completion, you will be awarded the NITEC In Services – Beauty & Wellness.

COURSE OVERVIEW

Course Timetable

The expected time for the completion of the course is 700 hours. The course supports two modes of study: full time and part time. For the full-time course, each student will need to dedicate 40 hours per week for a duration of 9 months. At the same time, the days of instruction for full-time studies are Mondays to Fridays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

If you wish to study part time, you will need to dedicate 17.5 hours per week for a period of 12 months. In addition, the days of instructions for part-time students are Mondays to Fridays from 7 p.m. to 10.30 p.m.

Commencement Date

We also have a precise commencement date, which we expect you to observe if you consider pursuing the NITEC in Beauty & Wellness. The course commences on the first of every month. In case the first of the month is a Saturday, Sunday, or a public holiday, the next working day will be the official start date for the course.

Progression

Upon the completion of the cosmetology course and all its requirements, we will be glad to see you take your place in the beauty industry. You can graduate to participate in the work force, depending on the niche in which you have an interest. You will graduate as a full-fledged beauty therapist.

COURSE STRUCTURE

A NITEC Course in Beauty & Wellness comprises 6 modules:

Makeup Applications

The module involves 40 hours of theory and 80 hours of practical training. Successful completion of this module will equip you with the skills to offer various types of make-up applications, such as cosmetic camouflage make-up and more.

Basic Facial Treatments

This module also requires 40 hours of theory and 80 hours of practical training. With the knowledge from this course, you will be able to provide basic facial treatment and shape eyebrows. In addition, you will be able to perform head, neck, and décolleté and shoulder massage.

Manicure and Pedicure

This module also entails 40 hours of theory and 80 hours of practical training. Successful completion will see you offering manicure and pedicure service, as well as hand and foot massage. In addition, this module will perfect your paraffin hand and foot treatment skills.

Aesthetic Therapy

The recommended training duration for this module is 40 hours of theory and 80 hours of practical. The first objective is to help you offer advanced facial treatments upon completion. At the same time, the skills learned will allow you to provide high frequency treatment and waxing for facial and body hair removal.

Massage Therapy

The training duration is 40 hours for theory and 80 hours for practical sessions. A successful completion of the module will enable you to provide seated chair massage, hot stone massage, and Swedish massage.

Spa Treatment

This module requires only 40 hours of theory and 60 hours of practical training. Upon completion, you will be able to offer body scrub, mask and wrap treatment, as well as thermal and hydrotherapy treatments.


ASSESSMENT & EXAMINATION

Delivery Modes

This course entails two delivery modes. Students will be taught in the classroom and also undergo practical training. This course involves no industrial attachment.

Exam

You will have the chance to register for an ITE examination at the end of the course. An external and internal verifier will be responsible for the assessment of each student. During the verification day, you will be required to perform a final practical test, with a passing mark of 50 points. We also offer 2 mediums for the theory test – English or Chinese – for which you will be required to sit.

To be awarded with a certificate, you need to get at least a pass grade in the final practical and theory tests.

Exam Results’ Release Date
