COURSE AIM

To enable Learners to gain the necessary practical skills and theoretical skills in order to provide Hairdressing services required by the Hairdressing Industry.

COURSE FEES

COMMENCEMENT DATE

Course commences on every first of the month. If the first of the month falls either on a Saturday, Sunday or a public holiday, the course will commence on the next working day.

PROGRESSION

You can graduate to take your place in the work force as a full fledged Hair Stylist.

DELIVERY MODE

For this course, students will be taught both in the classroom and practical aspects.

OTHERS

Please note that there will be NO industrial attachment for this course.

EXAMINATIONS

At the end of the course, the student can register for ITEC examination. Students will be assessed by the internal and external verifier. Students are required to perform a final practical test (passing marks 60 points) on live mode during the day of the verification. Students are also required to sit for a theory test. There are 2 mediums of theory paper – English / Chinese.

An ITEC External Verifier will verify all components of the course – portfolio of evidences, project assignments, MCQ assignment (passing marks 60 points) & mock examinations Assessments Records.

Diplomas will only be awarded to a student upon achievement of at least a Pass grade in the final practical and theory tests during the external verifier visit.

EXPECTED EXAMINATION RESULTS RELEASE DATE

Not more than 3 months after the final assessment.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Interested applicants must possess ONE of the following entry requirements:

Completed Diploma in Hairdressing Level 2 OR

Completion of 5 GCE “N” Level subjects (Grade A*-D) or its equivalent, inclusive of a pass in GCE “N” level in English OR

Currently working in a salon OR

Minimum 1 year salon experience as a Salon Assistant OR

Subjected to case by case basis AND

At least 16 years of age

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

Students are required to meet the following criteria in order to graduate and obtain their relevant diploma:

  • Must complete all 11 modules with at least 75% in attendance ( local students)
  • Must complete all 11 modules with at least 90% in attendance ( international student)
  • Able to pass the mock examinations for the 11 modules
  • Able to pass the actual examination for the 11 modules
  • Complete portfolio with 31 performances

Upon completion of the programme, students will be awarded the Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing by ITEC (UK).
